PlayMETRIC ("we", "us") operates playmetric.org. This page explains what information is handled when you use the site, in plain language.
What we collect
Very little, by design:
- Links you paste: processed in the moment to fetch thumbnails, never stored. Images stream from YouTube's servers straight to you.
- Calculator inputs: processed entirely in your browser. They never reach our servers.
- Server logs and rate limiting: like nearly every website, our server temporarily sees your IP address to prevent abuse. Rate limit counters live in memory and expire within minutes.
- Analytics: we may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which tools people use, using aggregate counts, not personal profiles.
We do not require accounts, we do not collect names or emails (unless you email us yourself), and we never sell personal information.
Advertising and cookies
PlayMETRIC is supported by advertising, which keeps every tool free. We use Google AdSense to serve ads. Here is what that means:
- Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third party vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you will be shown a consent message before any personalized advertising cookies are set.
Third party services
- YouTube / Google: thumbnail images load from YouTube's image servers (i.ytimg.com). Your browser requests those images directly, which is subject to Google's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts: fonts load from Google's font servers.
Children
PlayMETRIC is a general audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention
We have almost nothing to retain. Pasted links and generated images are not stored. Standard server logs rotate automatically.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access or delete personal data. Since we store essentially none, there is usually nothing to retrieve, but you can always contact us with questions and we will respond.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
